Privacy
How this portfolio handles information. Short version: no accounts, no cookies, no advertising trackers.
What this site is
alexjardinedigital.com presents Alex Jardine’s work, services and writing. It does not create user accounts, run advertising, set tracking cookies or collect anything you type, because there is nothing to type into.
Anonymous performance measurement
To keep the site fast, the page can record a few anonymous measurements: how quickly the main content appears, layout stability and responsiveness, along with which page they came from. It can also note when someone opens an email link, copies the email address, opens the resume, views a project or follows a LinkedIn or GitHub link.
These records contain no identifier, cookie, referrer, query string, click text or email address. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is sent anywhere; the measurements stay in your browser tab and disappear when you leave.
Saved preferences
If you pause the background animation, that choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the next page respects it. A short-lived session flag also smooths the transition between pages. You can clear both through your browser’s site-data settings.
Fonts and hosting
The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which receives normal request information such as your IP address and browser type. The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes ordinary request information like network addresses and requested URLs to serve pages and keep the service secure.
Links and email
Links to client websites, Jardine Studio, LinkedIn and GitHub open services with their own privacy practices. The contact links open your own email application; if you send a message, it is used only to reply and discuss your request.
